Job Title: Development Coordinator

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Reports To: SVP, Head of Development

Overview

Locksmith Animation is seeking a proactive and creative self-starter to be a Development Coordinator and EA in their West LA office.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Coordinator Duties:

  • Work closely with the SVP of Development, Directors, and Development Production Manager to support the needs of the team within development projects assigned.
  • Provide creative support on projects, including: taking and distributing comprehensive notes in story meetings and brainstorms; helping shape presentations; building and maintaining Miro boards; pulling art reference; conducting character and thematic research etc.
  • Provide logistical support on projects, including: booking travel for talent and providing itineraries; scheduling and managing preparations for meetings; coordinating NDAs; creating and maintaining project folders for written materials, notes and art etc.
  • Read and provide coverage for writing samples and potential new projects.
  • Maintain and distribute the development slate grid, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Log information into the talent and submissions database in concert with the development executives and London based EA.

Executive Assistant Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day support for the SVP, Head of Development
  • Calendar support (in multiple time zones), call handling, prepping materials/presentations for upcoming meetings, keeping SVP, Head of Development on schedule
  • Handle all travel management for the SVP, Head of Development
  • Booking and following status of domestic and international hotel, flights, car, rail and related
  • Creating and maintaining travel itineraries
  • Includes all expense report processing
  • Light EA support to the on-site Director (pre-greenlight) as needed

Other duties as needed

Postion Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience with an interest in animation
  • Previous EA support to a senior executive necessary
  • College coursework / degree preferred
  • Previous experience in animation, entertainment, pop-culture or production/development/ filmmaking or interest in industry ideal
  • Strong proven proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, Teams) required
  • Knowledge of Keynote helpful
  • Solid understanding of screenplay structure and analysis
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through, the ability to function under pressure and to meet deadlines with a sense of initiative and accountability
  • Professionalism, flexibility, and prioritization when multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with teams in multiple locations
  • Able to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with all levels of creative talent and management
  • Previous experience preparing meeting materials and presentations a must
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Proven work in an environment requiring utmost discretion and confidentiality
  • Highly organized, solution and detail oriented with ability to multi-task and anticipate problems and conflicts in advance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with varied levels of internal and external management, talent, and staff
  • Experience working in, and a positive attitude towards, a dynamic business environment
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate multi-national office dynamics
  • Must be able to work on site 4-5 days per week
  • Willingness to travel from time to time (within Europe or to the US) if needed

Compensation and Benefits:

The range for this hourly position, experience dependent, is between $28 to $31 per hour.
