Role Summary

Locksmith Animation, London is seeking a pro-active and dynamic HR Generalist who has the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. This role primarily focuses on production HR but as part of the overall HR team will provide support to the wider London Studio. Reporting to the Head of HR at SISTER London you will be part of an established HR team that works across multiple companies within the SISTER Group.

This is a varied generalist HR role where you will primarily support our production in managing a diverse workforce of freelance, remote/international talent. We are looking for someone who is confident working autonomously, who will build strong relationships across the business and become a trusted advisor within the production and the overall company.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Act as the primary HR contact, supporting HODs in managing freelance staff.
  • Build strong relationships with production crew and integrate HR as a key part of the process.
  • Provide guidance on HR matters, ensuring managers and employees receive appropriate support.
  • Support as required on recruitment including job specs, advertising, headhunting, and full-cycle hiring in collaboration with HODs.
  • Oversee onboarding for new hires, ensuring proper documentation, contracts, and induction into studio life, ensuring a positive experience for all new hires.
  • Assist HODs in providing career coaching and feedback sessions for freelance teams.
  • Ensure international hires meet visa and legal requirements.
  • Introduce exit surveys and offboarding processes, monitoring feedback for improvements.
  • Stay updated on employment legislation and ensure company policies align with industry standards.
  • Manage the HR system (HiBob) and ensure its effective use and continuous development.
  • Support management with performance concerns and employee relations.
  • Partner with the SISTER HR team to drive continuous improvement in HR processes across production and company.
  • Plan and implement health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support benchmarking and new role design, collaborating with the Head of HR on salary
  • Oversee benefits administration, including renewals and employee queries.
  • Partner with SISTER HR and Head of Culture on DEI initiatives and training programs, maximising available industry learning opportunities

Postion Requirements:

About you

  • Experience at HR Generalist level or above.
  • Experience working within animation, VFX, gaming, or creative production industries ideal.
  • Passionate about creating a working environment where people can do their best work and be their best selves.
  • Knowledge of employment law, particularly related to production freelancers
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, creative environment
  • Self-starter and pro-active
  • Commercially minded
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Solutions focused with a strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to be based in the office 3 days per week Tues-Thurs.

Office hours are 9.30AM-6.30PM. The role is part-time, 3 days per week or we are happy to consider other flexible working patterns for this role on request.
